MARSHALL — Myles Busby scored 22 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out six assists as visiting Niles ran its record to 7-0 with a 65-51 win over Marshall Friday night in boys’ basketball Big 16 Conference non-divisional play.

The Vikings trailed 17-13 after the opening quarter, but outscored the Red Hawks (0-7) 20-11 in the second quarter to grab a 33-28 halftime advantage.

Niles continued to pour it on offensively in the second half as it netted 32 points and allowed just 23.

“We got up and down the floor tonight really well,” Niles coach Todd Pawielski said. “Myles Busby was excellent in transition. Quintin Irby and Brandon Partee both ran the floor real well. Brandon Partee gave us a huge lift off the bench tonight with his defense and by scoring five points. I was certainly happy with our effort tonight.”

The Vikings led 47-38 heading into the fourth quarter.

Besides Busby’s totals, Niles also got eight points from both Nick Lucero and Jordan Potthoff. Austin Parks and Taylor Campbell both added seven.

Parks also dished out six assists.

Josh Pratt led Marshall with 12 points and was the lone player who reached double figures for the Red Hawks.

Niles is home for a pair of Big 16 games next week. The Vikings host Battle Creek Central on Tuesday night and then host Benton Harbor in a key West Division match-up on Friday.
