Harry L. Kiste, 75, of Cassopolis and formerly of Niles, passed to his rest Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 at his home in Cassopolis after a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 19, 1935 in Niles to Charles and Nettie Kiste.

Harry had lived in Niles most of his life until recent years when he lived in Cassopolis. While in Niles, he was a driver of sanitation for the former Acme Disposal, now known as Waste Away.

Harry is survived by his children, Harry Steve (Cathy) Kiste of Cassopolis, Bebbie Kiste and her friend, Tom Sallee, both of Niles; Jan Ebert and Penny Soto, both of Fremont, Mich., Lisa Wagner and Johnnie Kiste, both of Niles; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lena York and Ethel Thomas, both of Niles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Kiste; an infant daughter, Tammy; a brother, Charles; a sister, Lulu Belle Sallee; and two half-brothers, Harold Gould and Buster Kibbe.

Friends and family will gather at Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main St., Edwardsburg, on Saturday, Jan. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A service will begin at 1 p.m. After the service, cremation will take place.
