CASSOPOLIS — A Dowagiac man is on his way to prison for home invasion, concealed weapon possession and resisting a police officer offenses.

David Donley, 27, was sentenced to 12.5 to 40 years in prison on Friday at Cass County Circuit Court. Donley received credit for 210 days already served.

The offense occurred June 12 when Donley, armed with a knife, broke into a woman’s apartment in Dowagiac.

When police arrived, Donley resisted arrest and officers had to use a Taser to apprehend him. About a month later Donley resisted a police officer in the Cass County Jail, stacking another offense onto his list of crimes.

Donley was also ordered to pay $14,506 in restitution.
