Rosilda R. “Rosie” Geyer, 87, of Meadowview Drive in Buchanan, died at 1:56 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph following an illness.

She was born on Jan. 29, 1923 in South Bend to William Henry and Goldie Viola (Hill) Boettcher. She moved to Buchanan from California 18 years ago.

She was a member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church and enjoyed walking and spending time at Hilltop Restaurant in Buchanan.

On Oct. 20, 1950 in South Bend, she married William G. Geyer who was born in California and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1952. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 1988.

She is survived by their son, Timothy G. Geyer of Placerville, Calif.; grandson Justin T. Geyer and granddaughter Kathrynn A. Geyer both of Lakewood, Calif.; great-granddaughter Riley Jo Voss; brothers Robert (Emma) Boettcher of Edwardsburg and Noble (Angie) Boettcher of Elkhart; sister-in-law Mary E. Boettcher of Niles and several nieces.

She was also preceded in death by daughter-in-law Deborah Jo Geyer who died May 27, 1998; sister Peggy Herman; brothers Richard W. Boettcher, Sr., Billy and Eldon Boettcher and sister-in-law Mary N. Boettcher.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Rosilda R. Geyer will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 at Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Buchanan with Rev. Father Joseph Gray of the church, celebrating.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Niles.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
