Lois Swinehart, 79 / Oct. 31, 1931 — Dec. 7, 2010

Lois M. Swinehart, 79, of Edwardsburg, passed to her rest Tuesday morning, Dec. 7, 2010 at Lakeland Specialty Hospital in Berrien Center, where she was a patient for five days.

Lois was born Oct. 41, 1931 in Mishawaka, Ind. to the late Earl Yeakey and Charity Flowers. Lois lived in Michiana all her life.

She married Leon Swinehart, who passed in 1965. Surviving are her two sons, Jack Norman Yeakey and Leon Swinehart, both of Edwardsburg, and four grandchildren.

Other survivors are her two brothers, Merle Yeakey of Mishawaka and John Bowerman of South Bend; several stepbrothers and stepsisters.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Arden Yeakey, Wallace Yeakey, Earl Yeakey, Jr., Wilma Runyon and Patricia Meredith. There are many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may gather Friday from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main St. (U.S. Highway 12), Edwardsburg.

At 1:30 p.m. will be a service before going to Adamsville Cemetery for interment.

It is suggested that in lieu of flowers. memorial donations may be given to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
