Bobcats now 2-0

NEW BUFFALO — The Brandywine boys’ basketball team improved to 2-0 Thursday night with a 50-39 non-conference victory over host New Buffalo.

Jacob Frazier led the Bobcats with 21 points, while Austin Searles finished with 11. Dustin Sater and Alex Erwin both finished with four points.

Brandywine trailed 12-4 but outscored the Bison 16-6 in the second quarter to make it a 20-18 contest at the intermission.

The Bobcats continued to dominate New Buffalo in the second half, holding a 30-21 advantage on the scoreboard, including a 22-12 in the pivotal third quarter.

Brandywine also won the JV contest 66-44 as Evan Hartman scored 17 points. Collin and Alec Nichols both scored seven points to help the freshmen squad defeat the Bison 28-20.

Brandywine is back in action tonight as it hosts Lake Michigan Catholic for its third game in five days.
