If a new and affordable home is on your wish list this holiday season, Habitat for Humanity of Cass County may be your Santa in waiting.

Habitat is accepting applications for the home currently underway at 503 N. Front St. in Dowagiac.

In qualifying families for a new home, Habitat will evaluate the financial readiness of the applicant to be a homeowner, including the ability to make monthly mortgage payments; the current housing status of the family; and the willingness of the family to invest volunteer hours in educational classes and at Habitat worksites, including working on their own home.

New homes are offered through Habitat for Humanity at an affordable price with a zero-percent interest mortgage, which allows for lower monthly payments.
