KALAMAZOO — Phil Steele announced his annual postseason All-Mid-American Conference team and the Broncos boast 11 honorees, including Juan Nunez and Jordan White on first team offense and Lewis Toler on first team defense.

Nunez and White together set records for receptions (185), receiving yards (2,410) and receiving TDs (20) by a receiving duo and were each named First Team All-MAC earlier this week.

Toler led the MAC in passes defended with 14, hauling in a team best five interceptions (ranked second in the conference) and nine pass break ups.  He also had three fumble recoveries, accounting for eight of WMU’s 30 takeaways in 2010.

Alex Carder (3,334 yards, 30 touchdowns, school record 567 total offensive plays) earned second team offense, as did offensive guard Phillip Swanson (48 career starts 3,720 career snaps).

Ben Armer, who averaged 41.2 yards per punt, earned second team punter.

The junior recorded 17 punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line and 14 punts of 50 yards or longer.

Defensively, Paul Hazel (12.0 tackles for loss and 8.0 sacks) and Jamail Berry (94 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles) both earned third team, while Dex Jones, who led the team with 12.5 tackles for loss and finished with 46 total tackles, earned a spot on fourth team defense.

Mario Armstrong also earned fourth team defense after finishing the season with 78 tackles, ranking third on the team, and a share of the team lead for interceptions with a career-high five picks.

John Potter rounded out the host of Western Michigan nominees, earning third team as a kicker.

Potter finished with a team best and career high 86 points on a school record 50 consecutive PATs and 10 fields goals on 12 attempts (83.3 percent).
