Jeffrey R. Scelzo, 68, of Dowagiac, passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at his home.
He was born Nov. 30, 1941, in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., to the late Fredrick and Gladys Scelzo.
He is survived by: his wife of 43 years, Christine; their three children,Tony Scelzo of Indianapolis with special friend Nikki Lewallen, Deanna Scelzo and her husband Adam Reeves of South Bend, Ind., and Teresa Burling and her husband Ben Burling of Columbia Falls, Montana; three granddaughters, Emmi and Sophia Scelzo and Ryder Burling; brother, Fred (Donna) Scelzo of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister, Cathy Swaney of Granger, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews
Jeff worked for Tyler Refrigeration for 20 years, co-managed Kugler’s Beach in Niles for five years and was a successful small business owner in Niles for the last 20 years.
Jeff was grateful to have been blessed with a family who enjoyed his company, two sons-in-law he considered his sons and a life that didn’t contain too many dull moments.
His biggest joy came from a little voice saying, “Hi, Paw Paw.”

Family and friends will gather at Yazel-Clark Chapel in Dowagiac on Wednesday, Dec. 1, from 4 to 6 followed by a memorial service that begins at 6 p.m.
