Eau Claire resident wins Miss Teen

DOWAGIAC — Alexis Teichman won 2011 Miss Teen Blossomtime Saturday night at Dowagiac Middle School Performing Arts Center out of a field of 18 contestants.

Alexis, crowned by 2010 Teen queen Katelyn Lee of Dowagiac, is the daughter of Bill and Monica Teichman of Eau Claire.

Named first runner-up was Samantha Flory of Paw Paw.

Samantha is the daughter of Pam Elmore and Dave Flory. She earned the ticket sales award.

Second runner-up Kaitlin Leonard of Niles is the daughter of Patricia Leonard.

Miss Congeniality is Kelsey Priefer of St. Joseph, daughter of Brian and Robin Priefer.

Jasmine Shannon of Benton Harbor sold the most program ads.

Also participating in the pageant were Danielle Summers of St. Joseph, Michaela Zielke of Baroda, Grace Smith of St. Joseph, Karleigh Pleyer of Hartford, Holly Summerhill of Hartford, Lexi Martin of Eau Claire, Taylor Krugh of Eau Claire, Talitha Hudson of St. Joseph, Paige Mavity of St. Joseph, Madeline Vorrath of Buchanan and Dana Handley of New Buffalo.

Visiting royalty, including Miss Blossomtime Kyra Heit, filled the stage from one side to the other.

Between segments, Miss Southwest Outstanding Teen Roxie Elliott sang.
