Woman, 31, arrested in S. Paul drug bust

Cass County Drug Enforcement team announces that on Thursday, Nov. 18, detectives conducted a search warrant in the 200 block of S. Paul Street in Pokagon Township — just outside the City of Dowagiac.

Detectives located quantities of powder cocaine with an estimated street value of $300, crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $400 and a large amount of marijuana with an estimated street value of $1,000

Evidence of illegal narcotics sales such as digital scales and packaging materials were also seized.

One resident, a 31-year-old female, was arrested at the scene.

She was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and maintaining a drug house.

She is lodged in the Cass County Jail pending arraignment.

Michigan Department of Human Services, Child Protective Services Sivision, was called to the scene as well and two children were subsequently taken into state custody.

Investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
