With Cass County Council on Aging planning a center in downtown Dowagiac, Rotary Club hopes to raise about $2,500 — some $50 a member — it can match with the District 6360 foundation for $5,000.

At that point, attorney Mark Herman explained to the club Nov. 11, “We can get a district-designated foundation grant, which is money that comes back to us after three years.

“We should be able to make approximately a $10,000 donation to the project,” which would make Rotary a sponsor of one of the rooms.

“I think anybody who’s been involved with our Council on Aging knows we really are fortunate in Cass County to have the services it provides,” Herman said.
