Car crashes into Stateline Cafe

No one was injured and one driver was cited in a collision that caused a vehicle to crash into Stateline Cafe early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 2:46 a.m., Deputy Ian Dodd of the Berrien County Niles Township Patrol responded to a two-car collision that occurred at the intersection of South 11th Street and Stateline Road in Niles Township.
A 1998 Chevy Blazer operated by Nicholas Buzas, 21, of South Bend, collided with a 2010 Chevy Camaro operated by Michael Speer, 23, of Arkansas. Both vehicles were traveling north on South 11th Street when Buzas attempted to make a right-hand turn from South 11th Street onto Stateline Road.
Buzas collided with Speer’s vehicle, which was also traveling northbound alongside Buzas vehicle. The Camaro continued off the roadway and crashed into the Stateline Cafe at 3159 South 11th St. before coming to a stop.
There was extensive damage to the business consisting of structural damage to the south entry of the restaurant. The Camaro also had extensive damage to the front end.
Clarks Towing was called to the scene to remove the vehicle and the Berrien County South County Patrol assisted with the accident.
There were no reported injuries as a result of this incident.
Buzas was cited for careless driving on scene.
This crash remains under investigation by the Berrien County Niles Township Patrol.
