COA needs to be more transparent about 25% fee hike

To the editor:
Senior citizens will not receive a cost of living raise for the second year in a row because the cost of living has gone down.
However, the COA has raised fees 25 percent for the off-site Dowagiac exercise classes.
It is difficult to understand why the Executive Board of the COA would specifically target these classes, since I believe that no other fees have been raised.
When I asked the director of the fitness programs these questions, she had no information
There is no explanation or information in the November edition of the COA “Messenger.”
The Board of Trustees and the director of the COA need to be more transparent about their financial decisions since the COA is supported entirely by donations and taxes from citizens.
