BROOKLYN — Chris Gantt of Dowagiac and Josh Clark of Edwardsburg competed in the Michigan High School Athletic Association LP Cross Country Finals on Saturday at Michigan International Speedway.

Gantt finished 81st in Division 3 with a time of 17:04.5.

Grandville Calvin Christian won the boys’ state title with 107 points, easily outdistancing runner-up Lansing Catholic Central, which finished with 192 points. Frankenmuth was third with 212, Shepherd fourth with 212 and Jackson Lumen Christi fifth with 242.

There were no area teams competing in the Division 3 race.

Clark was 30th in the Division 2 race after touring the course in a time of 16:10.9.

Forest Hills Northern was the boys’ team champion with 108 points. Mason was second with 163 and Grand Rapids Christian third with 202. Rounding out the top five were Fremont with 213 points and Ionia with 216.

St. Joseph finished seventh with 239 points.

In Division 4, Bridgman finished second behind North Muskegon, which finished with 89 points. The Bees, led by a fifth place overall finish by Cammeron Magro, finished with 121 points.
