Dear editor:

As a relative newcomer to the Niles community, I read the Niles Star online and read many articles regarding Fred Upton, and the fact that he’s repeatedly re-elected as the 6th District representative to Congress. And I’ve read that he’s done wonderful things for the St. Joseph and Kalamazoo areas, but what has he done to benefit Niles?

In the time I’ve lived here, I’ve not read about any new jobs brought to Niles or any Upton-related improvements to the area at all. Maybe it’s because of the proximity to Indiana and the lack of Michigan news, but I don’t know why he keeps getting re-elected. Can someone enlighten me?
