Kathleen Patricia Kubond, 74, of Niles, died at 7:09 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Niles after a short battle with cancer.

She was born March 23, 1936 in Niles. She lived there most of her life after moving from Marquette, Mich. She was a homemaker and member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Niles.

She married Tom Kubond on July 8, 1977 in Niles.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; daughters, Suellyn Bivens of Niles and Patricia Sims of Niles; brother, Richard McQuaid of Marquette; a grandchild, Kristin Bivens of Niles; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Catherine McQuaid; her brothers, James McQuaid and Jerry McQuaid; and three sisters, Elizabeth Prenkert, Marjorie Bachman and Mary Ellen Goggan.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Niles with Father David Otto of the church officiating.

Burial will be at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010 at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan.
