Gipson wins tourney

BENTON HARBOR — On Sunday, the Last Chance Fall River Series took place on the St. Joe River in Benton Harbor at the DNR boat landing across from Tackle Haven.

The winners were Justin Hahaj of Bridgman and John Gipson Jr. of Niles. The winners had five smallmouth bass that weighed 18.53 pounds and also had big bass with a 4.5 pound fish.

The next event is scheduled to take place Nov. 14 at the same location from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.The entry fee is $60. Any questions can be directed to (269) 362-4670.

All fish were released alive back into the St. Joe River following weigh-in.
