Elizabeth “Kitty” Kiggins, 84, of Niles died at 4:33 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend of natural causes.
She was born Jan. 5, 1926 in South Bend. She was a lifetime area resident.

Kitty was a factory worker and member of Clay United Methodist Church in South Bend.
She married Joseph M. Kiggins on June 8, 1946 in South Bend. He preceded her in death Jan. 20, 2010.
Kitty was also preceded in death by her parents, Andras and Maria Halasi; four brothers; five sisters; and one great-grandchild, Austin Maynard.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Anderson of South Bend and Michele “Shelly” (Larry) Maynard of Niles; a brother, Alex Halasi of Niles; a sister, Helen Grams of Apex, N.C.; two grandchildren, Lorena Maynard and Aaron Irvin; one step-grandson, Michael (Rhonda) Maynard; one great-grandson, Aiden Maynard; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010 at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan with Pastor Herb Bulwalda of Clay United Methodist Church in South Bend officiating.
Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Friends may call from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners’ Hospital in Chicago or March of Dimes.
