Lonnie and Maybell (Ralph) Herman of Niles are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 27, 2010. They were married Oct. 27, 1960 in Gander, Newfoundland, Canada.

Lonnie worked a Clark Equipment and Bendix for many years.

Maybell worked at the Pickwick Club and also with antiques.

Their children are Lorna Jweiban of Niles; Loretta (Jeff) Robbins of Southern Pines, N.C.; Lani Herman of Niles; and Stephen Herman of Niles.

They also have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren (and one on the way).

Our family has been blessed with the love and guidance our parents have given us through our lives. Their strength has been the anchor of our lives. And our gratitude to them is without end. We love you.

The couple will celebrate with a family dinner.
