A Niles man was injured in a motorcycle-car crash Thursday morning in Mason Township.

Cass County Sheriff Joseph Underwood Jr. reports that Cass County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash, which occurred in the 19000 block of U.S. 12 at approximately 6:30 a.m.

Investigation reveals that Timothy Majewski, 32, of Edwardsburg was entering onto U.S. 12 from a private drive and failed to see a motorcycle driven by Tracy Alan Russ, 49, of Niles, who was traveling west on U.S. 12.

Russ struck the Majewski vehicle, ejecting him from the cycle. 

Russ was treated and then transported to Elkhart General Hospital by Porter Township Emergency Medical Services. Majewski did not receive any injuries.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Edwardsburg/Ontwa Police personnel and Porter Township Fire personnel. 

Alcohol was not a factor. Seat belt and helmet were in place.
