Dear editor:

Today’s generation owes a lot to our seniors. Each generation benefits from the work others have done before them, which is why seniors need to be treated with dignity, respect and given the tools they need to remain independent.

Sharon Tyler understands the respect our seniors deserve. She has fought to protect seniors from elder abuse situations, to protect their assets, to allow them to stay in their homes through the MI Choice program and to give those who have been wronged a chance to testify without having to face their attacker.

Sharon understands that seniors want and deserve respect and that is just what she has given them. Most importantly I appreciate how Sharon keeps us involved and part of the process. Her print newsletters and frequent local office hours give seniors a chance to ask questions and stay involved in state and local government.
