Robert B. Prenkert, 60, of Cass Street, Niles, died at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2010 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph following a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 20, 1950 in Jackson, Mich. to Robert W. Prenkert and Natalie (Bates) Prenkert. He graduated from Niles High School in 1969 and lived in Niles all his life.

Robert was a former employee of Modineer Co. in Niles. He was a member of AA. He volunteered with the Howard Township Fire Department. He enjoyed playing cribbage and fishing.

Surviving family includes a daughter, Aimee L. White of Niles; grandchildren, Natalie Mae White, Brenden William White; and a circle of friends, including Keven Reith, who provided his care.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Michael Sirovica of New Apostolic Church officiating.

Friends may call beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Howard Township Fire Department.
