Tyler will help us compete

Dear editor:

We are so fortunate to have state Rep. Sharon Tyler as our voice in Lansing. When she was elected two years ago to the Michigan House of Representatives, her leadership skills, her compassion and her track record made her an immediate standout among other freshmen elected in 2008.

She became the minority vice chair of the House Agriculture Committee and a leader in the House Education Committee. Even Michigan’s governor knew a good thing and appointed Sharon Tyler to the Michigan Council for Labor and Economic Development her first few months in Lansing.

When Republicans regain control of the House of Representatives, Sharon Tyler will be in a position to help guide state policy away from the policies of higher taxes and more government intervention and move toward a common sense approach.

Sharon Tyler knows the dangers of policies that might be good for Detroit and Lansing, but hurt the border counties that need to compete with Indiana for jobs and business. Through her proven leadership, state Rep. Sharon Tyler will help Cass and Berrien counties compete with our neighbors to help restore Michigan’s economy.

Re-elect Sharon Tyler on Nov. 2.
