The Cass County Board of Commissioners is seeking candidates for appointment to the Cass County Road Commission.

The five-member Road Commission meets twice a month, oversees the operations of the road commission and adopts an annual budget for the maintenance and construction of county roads.  A biennial primary and local road program is also developed based on long-range plans to be sure all roads are in reasonable repair, safe and convenient for public travel.

There is an appointment application form available at www.casscountymi.org or at the county administrator’s office, Cass County Building, 120 North Broadway, Cassopolis (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday).

Applications are due into the Administrator’s Office by Nov. 8. The new road commissioner will be appointed effective Jan. 1 for a six-year term. Compensation is $4,400 per year.
