The Ring Lardner eighth grade football team defeated Otsego 27-14 Tuesday night. 

Otsego opened the scoring with a long run in the second quarter. Warren Smith returned the ensuing kickoff 77 yards and Josh Dayhuff kicked the point-after-touchdown for Niles to take the lead. 

In the third quarter, quarterback Sean Craig completed a screen pass to David Kennedy that Kennedy ran 45 yards for the score. Dayhuff again kicked the PAT. 

After a critical stop by the defense, Ray Glenn broke a 70-yard run which set up Michael Martin’s seven-yard touchdown run the next play. Dayhuff added the PAT. The next Niles possession found Craig again connecting with Kennedy for a 30-yard touchdown pass. 

Otsego rallied to score a touchdown and 2-point conversion on the next drive to complete the scoring. 

On defense A.J. Bartowiak and Thomas Fortier both recovered fumbles. Jalen Alexander, and Gary Sherman had sacks and Alex Celie and Ted Jackowiak had tackles for a loss.
