Gary Rohacs retires CCRC after 32 years

CASSOPOLIS — A new facilities superintendent was hired by the Cass County Road Commission to replace a retiree.

Introduced to the commission on Thursday was Brian Townsend, 32, of Cassopolis.

Townsend replaces longtime facilities superintendent Gary Rohacs of Dowagiac who retired.

Townsend is a graduate of Dowagiac Union High School and has an advanced parts manager’s degree through John Deere University of Columbus, Ohio.

He previously worked at Fillmore Equipment in Eau Claire.

A couple of years ago, Townsend worked as a purchasing agent at the road commission for 18 months.

He and his wife, Samantha, are the parents of two young sons, 5 and 7 years old.

Rohacs served for 32 years with the road commission.
