PAW PAW — Host Paw Paw swept a Wolverine Conference cross country match from Dowagiac on Tuesday.

The Chieftain boys’ team fell to the Redskins 21-36, while the girls were defeated by Paw Paw 15-44.

Kyle Richardson took the top spot in the boys’ race with a time of 17:54.

Dowagiac’s Chris Gantt finished second with a time of 18:09. Ryne Wilming finished sixth with a 21:34, Tyler Cross seventh with a 21:53 and Jason Turner ninth with a 22:15.

Shane Filley finished 12th (25:53), Austin Jackson 13th (26:48) and Kenney Gibbons 16th (31:24).

Sam Pursley won the girls’ race with at time of 21:37.

Dowagiac’s Hannah MacDonald finished sixth with a time of 25:23. Holly Luth was eighth with a 26:26, Kendra Wilson ninth with a 26:32 and Amanda Hassle 10th with a 28:00.

Kelsey Cleveland was 11th (28:03), Sammy Mathews 12th (28:16), Kristina Bunn 13th (28:26), Rebecca Luth 14th (28:41), Alexa Batty 15th (28:43), Sarah Long 16th (29:24) and Kayla Yakim 17th 30:53.

Paige Schau finished 18th (31:33), Corinne Kasper 19th (31:33), Sarah Hassle 20th (35:59), Allison Hassle 21st (35:59), Jenna File 22nd (37:25) and Brittany Smith 23rd (37:30).

Dowagiac will next compete at the Gull Lake mini jamboree on Oct. 12.
