Leona ‘Mozelle’ Smith / Oct. 19, 1934-Sept. 24, 2010

Mozelle’s life began on Oct. 19, 1934, the daughter of Ira and Mary Esther (Martin) Duncan.
She was united in marriage to Donald James Smith on Dec. 30, 1955, in Dowagiac.
Mozelle was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Dowagiac.
Her loving family includes: her husband, Donald of Dowagiac; children, Anne (Ernie) Edgerly of Hartford, Nancy (Robert) Staley of Dowagiac, Lori (Charlie) Van Vorhees of Chandler, Ariz., James V. (Linda) Smith of Dowagiac and Alan (Krista) Smith of Dowagiac; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Frieda O’Neal of Brunswick, Ga., Barbara Hero of Winamac, Ind., and Trudy Edwards of Spofford, N.H.; and one brother, David Duncan of Dowagiac.
Mozelle passed away on Friday Sept. 24, 2010, at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital.  She was 75.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Coy Duncan.
Her family will receive friends on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yazel and Clark Chapel. A memorial service will be held at the Dowagiac Kingdom Hall at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
