The Dowagiac tennis team played the rude host on Monday afternoon as it defeated visiting Plainwell 5-3 in a Wolverine Conference match.

The Chieftains took three out of the four singles flights on their way to the victory.

Chris Craft defeated Chris Waechter 7-5 and 6-1, while Amarpal Sarao defeated Chris Hafer 6-4 and 6-1.

Aaron Blaske blanked Pat Hellinga 6-0 and 6-0 at No. 4 singles.

Dowagiac split in doubles play, winning at No. 1 and No. 2.

Jon Robinson and Dylan Chorba defeated Nate Smith and Riley Anson in three sets – 4-6, 6-1 and 6-4.

Marc Tyrakowski and Ben Thompson blanked Trevor Faas and Desmond Waters 6-0 and 6-0.
