Mark Christopher Nichols, 38, of New Orleans, La., formerly of Cadillac, Mich., passed away Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, in New Orleans.
He was born Sept. 8, 1971, in Texas, the son of Louis “Nick” and Karen Nichols. He graduated from Cadillac High School and served briefly in the U.S. Army. Mark was employed as a cabinet maker and also enjoyed his dogs and working on computers.
Surviving are: his father, Louis “Nick” Nichols and partner Julie Allen of Cadillac; mother, Karen Thompson of Dowagiac; grandmother, Olive Priddle of Cadillac; aunt and uncle Carol “Mickey” and Ron Barker of West Branch; step-brothers, Jason Allen and Becky of Detroit and Joshua Allen of Cadillac; step-sister, Jessica Allen and Scotty of Cadillac; and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carroll Nichols, Dorothy and Martin Thompson.
A memorial service will be held at the home of his father, Louis “Nick” Nichols, 357 Marble in Cadillac, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, with the Rev. Ronald C. Nicholas officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mark’s name may be directed to the family. Arrangements under the direction of Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home, Cadillac.
