To the editor:

We have many people in this community who do so many great projects to make Dowagiac the gem that it is. We sometimes take them for granted.

One group of ladies this applies to are the women of the Town and Country Garden Club.

Year after year these women plant the flowers in the large flower pots on downtown Front Street.

It is a big job.

Often the flowers are planted when the weather is such that it takes extra dedication to even be outside. This year was one of those years Every year I think that the flowers cannot be more beautiful but each year they are.

We have a beautiful downtown. These gorgeous flowers are like the star on the top of a Christmas tree. This make all the other components look complete. Thank you, ladies, for this great gift,  year after year, to the City of Dowagiac and its citizens.
