NILES — Wayne C. Long, 75, of Kenilworth Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at his home on Thursday, July 22, 2010.

After graduating from Sturgis High School in 1953, Wayne served with the U.S. Army in Korea and joined the Michigan State Police on March 3, 1957, retiring after 25 years of service.

Wayne has been cremated. His family will be having a celebration of life open house at FOP Lodge 95 in Niles on Monday, July 26, from 1 until 3 p.m., then they will head to Marion, Ark., where he will be interred next to his wife at Crittenden County Cemetery.

Those wishing to make memorial donations may do so to the American Cancer Society or the Center for Hospice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Niles.
