Where is first-time voter getting his political news? From Cartoon Network?

To the editor:
I was gratified to read a recent letter in the Kalamazoo Gazette from 18-year-old William Zuhl of Dowagiac, who registered and was looking forward to voting in his first election.
He was hoping to cast his first vote to re-elect Congressman Fred Upton.
My only question was why?
Mr. Zuhl said it was because he had known Congressman Upton since childhood and that he was voting for him because he was fiscally responsible.
I had to wonder where Mr. Zuhl was when Congressman Upton voted for two wars and a costly drug giveaway for seniors while reducing revenue by cutting taxes. Probably watching the Cartoon Network.
