Council adds sale to agenda

Dowagiac City Council conducts its regular meeting today, June 28, at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 241 S. Front St.
The council added to its agenda a resolution of intent to sell city-owned property at 225 S. Front St.
Another resolution will set a public hearing to consider an application for vacating an east-west alley between Percy and Uneta streets.
Council will consider a request from Beeson Street Bar to close Beeson Street for the MDA motorcycle rally on July 11 and another request from Niles Burn Run Inc. for traffic control assistance for its motorcycle rally July 18. It is recommended by Mayor Donald Lyons that Mark Shepard be reappointed to the airport board for a term expiring in May 2015. The council will also approve expenditure of $332,160.79, including $153,786.30 for bills and payroll of $178,374.49.
