BREAKING — 8,000 Midwest Energy customers without power

Power outages continue to mount tonight after damaging storms once again canvassed the region.
At 10:30 p.m. Wednesday more than 8,000 Midwest Energy Cooperative customers, primarily in Cass, St. Joseph and Berrien counties in Michigan, are without power. There is significant damage to the system and several substations without transmission at this time. Crews have been dispatched and are beginning restoration efforts.
Midwest Energy Cooperative is a member-owned electric utility providing electric distribution and an assortment of energy-related programs and services to more than 35,000 customers in 11 counties in southern Michigan and northern Indiana and Ohio.
