ALLENDALE – Jackson Lumen Christi shot 293 to grab the first round lead at the Division 3 Boys Golf Finals at The Meadows on the campus of Grand Valley State University.
Macomb Lutheran North is second at 319, while Grand Rapids South Christian is third at 320 and Detroit Country Day and Big Rapids are tied for fourth at 324.
Dowagiac is currently 13th after shooting 344.
Tommy Conway of Lumen Christi and Zach Mick of Lutheran North are tied for the top spot individually at 69.
The Chieftains’ Chris Craft is tied for 13th, nine strokes back, after shooting 78.
Dowagiac also got an 86 from Max Howe, an 88 from Cody Fairleigh, a 92 from Kyle Ward and a 97 from Jordan Juday.
The state finals will conclude on Saturday with another 18 holes.
