Mary Marjorie (Taylor) McIver, 84 of Niles, formerly of Wichita Falls, Texas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 8, 2010.

Mary was born Dec. 9, 1925 to James and Eliza (Mason) Taylor in Childress, Texas.

On July 1, 1983, Mary and Robert McIver wed at a ceremony in Odessa, Texas.  Robert preceded Mary in death on March 13, 1997.

An avid gardener, she devoted many hours to her lawn. She was especially fond of Texas blue bonnets. She also loved to spend time with her four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Even more, she loved to be in the house of God and served in many different capacities including teaching Sunday school and being a youth leader for many years. She visited Mexico on several occasions where she helped build Christian communities, including a church school.

Preceding Mary in death are her parents, James and Eliza Taylor; her three brothers, Howard, Ted and Mack; and her four sisters, Nell, Ethel, Johnnie and Sue Mae.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynda Cobb, of Burke, Va., Brenda Hall, of Burke, Va., Trudy (Michael) Waldron, of Niles; grandchildren, Amy Waldron Dwyer, Melissa Waldron, Patrick Hall and Theresa Hall, and one great-granddaughter, Regina Hall.

Funeral services to celebrate Mary’s long and wonderful life will be held Friday, June 11, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
