Niles' Spears named to All-District team

Division 2 District champion Lakeshore landed four players on the All-District team, which was selected Monday night.

Runner-up St. Joseph had four players on the squad as well, which was selected by the district coaches.

Dowagiac had a pair of players on the team.

Named to the squad for the Chieftains were senior catcher Torie Lowe and junior shortstop Katie Lorenz.

Niles’ Charissa Spear was the lone Viking selected. She was named to the team as an outfielder.

Edwardsburg also had one player chosen, which was catcher Deb Burton, who was and at-large pick.

Lakeshore’s Denny Dock was named Coach of the Year.

The Lancers were also selected to receive the team sportsmanship award.
