BATTLE CREEK – The Niles girls’ track team finished ninth at the Big 16 Conference Track Meet on Wednesday at Battle Creek Central High School.

Battle Creek Lakeview won the girls’ portion of the meet with 113.5 points, while Portage Northern was second with 84.5 points.

The Vikings finished with 29 points.

Niles grabbed a pair of second place finishes as Taylor Brandstatter ran a 1:01.27 in the 400-meters and Madie Rodts ran a 2:23.09 in the 800-meters.

Ashley Love finished third in the long jump with a leap of 16-0.5.

The Vikings finished 15th in the boys’ team standings with just one point.
