Guest speaker for Dowagiac’s fourth annual Arbor Day celebration this afternoon at 4:30 at City Hall will be Geoffrey D. Cripe, a land protection specialist for the Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy in Portage. The Dowagiac rock band CSBS will be performing live outside City Hall.

“This Arbor Day and all Arbor Days thereafter will be dedicated in (Ed Darr’s) name on behalf of the citizens of the City of Dowagiac,” Mayor Don Lyons proclaimed.

Mr. Darr died March 7 at 82.
