Elder Curtis L. Davis, 82, of Niles passed away Monday, April 19, 2010 in Saint Joseph Regional Hospital, Mishawaka, Ind.

Curtis was born July 29, 1927 in Bee Branch, Ark., the son of Andrew and Golah (Evans) Davis, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 22, 1946, he was united in marriage to Clara Lee (Rodgers) Davis of Cage City, Ark. They were happily married for 59 years until Clara passed Oct. 12, 2005.

Family was of great importance to Curtis.  He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Virgil Perry, of Niles; son and daughter-in-law, Curtis “Buddy” W. and Sue Davis, of Niles; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Duane Dasse, of Niles; four granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Davis is also survived by two stepsisters, Deanna Elrod and Dora Holms, both of Niles.

Mr. Davis was a dependable employee and truck driver of McCoy Concrete, Niles for 25 years, until his retirement in 1989. Upon retirement, Curtis enjoyed bike riding as a hobby. Mr. Davis proudly served his country as a member of the United State Air Force and Army during World War II, serving time in Japan.

Elder Davis would want most to be remembered for his unwavering walk with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Curtis was baptized and received the Holy Ghost in 1958. He remained a dedicated and loyal member of Bethel Tabernacle, where he served as Elder and Sunday school superintendent. Mr. Davis committed his life to saving souls through Apostolic-Pentecostal ministry.

Funeral visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Bethel Tabernacle, 71378 Ironwood Drive, Niles. Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2010 at Bethel Tabernacle in Niles with Pastor Matthew Bair officiating. Burial will take place in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles.
