Dowagiac man headed to prison for pot sales

CASSOPOLIS – Jeremy Lewis, of Dowagiac was handed a two- to -eight-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to delivery of marijuana and maintaining a drug house. Lewis, 30, requested a local sentence to be close to his family, but his previous felony convictions didn’t help his case.
Candido Osorio-Garcia, of Dowagiac also was sentenced Friday. Dodge sentenced him to 450 days in jail with credit for 59 already served for two counts of delivery of cocaine.
Cass County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Tiffiny Vohwinkle said Osorio-Garcia, a Mexican immigrant, “used strong ties to Mexico” to bring several kilos of cocaine to Cass County.
In January, Garcia sold cocaine to an undercover police officer, resulting in his arrest.
