Severe weather headed our way

Severe thunderstorms are expected in Niles and Dowagiac today and Wednesday, the National Weather Service has reported. A NWS thunderstorm warning alert has expired.
Niles
In Niles, the chance for severe thunderstorms today is 60 percent with 15-mile-per-hour winds. The high temperature is 78 degrees.
Tonight, thunderstorms continue (60 percent), with new rain accumulations of 0.25 to 0.5 of an inch. The low temperature will be 60 degrees. Winds are predicted to clock in at 15 to 20 miles per hour.
In Niles on Wednesday, the chance for severe thunderstorms is 70 percent, with new rain accumulations of 0.5 to 0.75 of an inch. Winds will be 15 to 20 miles per hour and the high temperature will be 68 degrees.
On Wednesday night, severe thunderstorms will continue (70 percent), with a low temperature of 40 degrees and 10 to 15-mile-per-hour winds.
Dowagiac
In Dowagiac, where severe winds toppled buildings, uprooted trees and destroyed roofs Monday night, the chance of severe thunderstorms today is 60 percent; they will likely occur before 3 p.m. Rain accumulations are expected to be at least 0.1 to 0.25 of an inch. Winds will be 10 to 15 miles per hour. The high temperature is 77 degrees.
