Applications available for 2011 Southwest Michigan pageant programs

Entry forms are available for 2011 Miss Southwest Michigan, 2011 Mr. Southwest Michigan and 2011 Miss Southwest Michigan Teen Programs. New for 2011 is the Mr. Southwest Michigan Program.

This will give the young men in the greater southwest Michigan area the opportunity to build on leadership, communications and community service. There are four phases of competition with each program. The first phase is Interview which counts for 50 percent; the second phase is Formal Wear, which counts for 25 percent; the third phase is Active Wear, which counts for 20 percent; and the fourth phase is the On-Stage Question, which counts for 5 percent of the contestants score.

The Miss and Mister programs are for the young men and women between the ages of 17 and 25 by pageant date, living in the greater southwest Michigan area are eligible to enter the Miss and Mister programs.

The Teen Program is open to all young women between the ages of 12 and 17 by pageant date, living in the greater southwest Michigan Area.

The 2011 Mr. Southwest Michigan Scholarship Program will be held Friday, July 30 at 7 p.m.; 2011 Miss Southwest Michigan Teen Scholarship Program will be held on Saturday, July 31 at 2 p.m.; and the 2011 Miss Southwest Michigan Scholarship Program will be held at 7 p.m. All programs will be held at the Dowagiac Performing Arts Center.
