Dear editor:
Congratulations bowlers, you did it, you’re helping to save lives! The 4th Annual Bowl for the Cure sponsored by the Niles Four Flags USBC Bowling Association and Joey Armadillo’s was successful in meeting its goal of $10,000 for Breast Cancer Awareness. Although the final figure has not yet been determined, the $10,000 goal has already been met and will be posted at Joey Armadillo’s proudly when all donations have been received!
Thanks to all the local merchants for their sponsorships and donations along with all the individual people and friends that banded together to donate or volunteered to help bring this event together and all the bowlers that came in and bowled to strike out breast cancer.
All proceeds will be donated to the Southwest Michigan Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help our local southwestern counties’ under-insured or non-insured people get the mammograms that are so important to early detection and saving lives! It’s important to know that 1 in every eight people will have breast cancer and mammograms can detect a lump 7 years before it can be felt. Remember, it’s not just women – men can get it too. Thanks for helping us in our fight against breast cancer!
