BRIDGMAN – Any hopes Bridgman had of defending its Lakeland Conference championship Monday night were erased by visiting Buchanan.

The Bucks defeated the Bees 51-39 Monday night in boys’ basketball action.

Buchanan (9-7, 6-3 Lakeland) outscored Bridgman (14-4, 8-3 Lakeland) 29-17 in the second half to pull off the win.

The Bucks grabbed a 14-8 lead after one quarter of play, but the Bees rallied to knot the score at 22 by the intermission.

Buchanan opened up a nine-point lead heading to the fourth quarter by outscoring Bridgman 17-8 in the period.

Marquis Tyler led the Bucks with 13 points, while Spencer Anglero added 11 points and Brandon Jackson seven.

Michael Kamp was the lone Bridgman player to reach double figures as he netted 12 points. Zane Copeland finished with nine points.
