HAMILTON – Dowagiac’s Ben Luth will compete in the Michigan High School Athletic Association individual state wrestling finals next month at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

Luth finished third at the Division 3 regional on Saturday at Hamilton High School.

Luth scored a major decision over Buchanan’s Jeff Mucha in the consolation finals, 12-3.

The Bucks also advanced Mack Green (285), who finished second; Taylor Glavin (103), who finished third), Adam Byrdak (152), who was third; and Gage Hutchison (160), who was third.

The top four wrestlers in each weight class advance to the state finals.

Green was defeated by Andy Ottenwess of Allendale 6-1 in the 215-pound championship.

Edwardsburg, who will compete in the Division 3 state team quarterfinals on Friday in Battle Creek, advanced three to the individual finals.

Michael Kempton (112) finished third, Terry Brasfield (140) finished fourth and Devin Bywaters (189) finished third.
