A 19-year-old St. Joseph man was killed in a two-car accident in LaGrange Township Tuesday at 8:05 a.m., Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood reports.

Brian Wood, 58, of Marcellus was traveling southbound on Dailey Road when Johnathon Russel, 19, of St. Joseph failed to stop at the stop sign on Peavine Street. The two vehicles collided at the intersection and slid into the ditch.

Russell was pronounced dead at the scene. Wood was transported to Borgess-Lee Memorial with minor injuries.

The drivers were wearing seatbelts. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this incident.
