Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berrien and Cass is hosting a reception for all Big Brothers and Big Sisters, as well as anyone who has an interest in learning more about mentoring Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Niles office at 205 Broadway (enter parking lot across from Pro Muffler on Third Street).

As a part of National Mentoring Month, BBBS is promoting mentoring and using this event to thank its active mentors. According to national statistics from Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, when children have mentors in their lives, they are less likely to drop out of school, become violent or experience an unplanned pregnancy.

BBBS is a United Way partner agency.
